Public Health in the Rockies 2026

Laura-Elena Porras-Holguin is the Coverage Program Director at Doctors Care, a nonprofit safety-net community health center. She oversees the organization’s health coverage services, helping patients and underserved community members navigate and access Medicaid, CHP+, and Connect for Health Colorado. Her work sits at the intersection of health policy, community health, and direct patient support, translating complex coverage policies into accessible services within an integrated community health center setting.
Laura-Elena holds a Master of Public Health in Health Systems, Management & Policy from the Colorado School of Public Health at CU Anschutz and a B.A. in Sociology, with a minor in Leadership Theory, from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her work is grounded in a commitment to health equity and strengthening systems that reduce barriers to affordable, accessible health care.
