About me
Jill Benarek is the Tobacco Policy Initiatives Supervisor at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. She directs youth tobacco prevention and secondhand smoke initiatives for the State Tobacco Education and Prevention Partnership. Jill has worked in tobacco control since 2006 and has contributed to policy efforts to reduce exposure to secondhand smoke in school settings and among multiunit housing residents, workers, and the public, and to reducing illegal sales of tobacco to minors. She was honored with the 2013 Jacille Zeches Award for contributions to public health activities in Colorado. Jill received her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver. She has served as a member of the board of directors for several nonprofit organizations.
