About me
Dr. Sara Tabatabaie (she/her) is a Teaching Assistant Professor in Environmental Design at the University of Colorado Boulder, holding a PhD in Environmental Studies. Her work integrates environmental design, public health, and climate resilience, focusing on how spatial decisions shape health and heat outcomes through empirical, computational, and community-engaged methods. Her research examines the relationship between the built environment and public health, with an emphasis on sun safety, heat mitigation, and alternative mobility. She incorporates emerging technologies to develop strategies that support health equity and environmental resilience. Dr. Tabatabaie has collaborated with public agencies, nonprofits, and design firms across North America, combining interdisciplinary research with community engagement to inform data-driven design practices.
