Vannesa Cruz is a first-generation, bilingual public health and social work professional with a background in school leadership and systems support. Ms. Cruz leads youth substance prevention and intervention efforts for Aurora Public Schools, focusing on strengthening protective factors like student connection, leadership, and belonging through student-led programs. Her work centers on advancing community-driven and systems-level approaches to prevention by partnering with students, families, educators, and community organizations. Ms. Cruz is passionate about creating equitable, culturally responsive environments that support community well-being and long-term success. She is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work, with a focus on organizational transformation and community empowerment.
